How it all started
The news that my friends Mum had a new beau certainly wasn't what I expected to hear on a lazy Sunday afternoon. My curiosity got the better of me, and soon I was on the phone with Ann, eager for details. "Spill the beans, Ann," I said, half-joking. "I want the full scoop—leave no stone unturned!" It felt like we were teenagers again, whispering secrets after class.
As it turned out, this bit of news led me down a rabbit hole I never knew existed—the shadowy world of romance scams. Starting with a single photo of the supposed Mr. Right, who, by the way, was supposedly hard at work on finalising a gas pipeline contract in Turkey and hadn’t returned home to Sydney for six months, I began to unravel a rather intricate tale. My investigative work revealed that the charming photo of Ann’s beau actually belonged to a real estate agent in California! Six months of secret conversations, and it all came down to a classic case of catfishing. This realsiation was then dealt another blow, I had to break the news to Ann. Devasted and just sad. It took Ann time to process this news. A realisation as to the tatics these scammer use to manilpulate loving individuals.
This revelation inspired me to start Two Face Investigations, a sort of cozy den for those entangled in the web of online dating deceptions. It’s not just about unmasking the scammers; it's a place where victims, along with their worried families and friends, can share their stories, voice their fears, and begin the healing process. Here, we tackle the tough stuff: broken hearts and raided bank accounts, all under the safe roof of support and understanding.
Every story is handled with care and every client is treated with the upmost respect and kindness. Together, we’re turning the tables on these romance rogues, one heart at a time.
